Kate Odulukwe’s Melanin and Melancholy is Transcendent

Kate Odulukwe is a Nigerian-American Actress and Singer/Songwriter native to both the Bronx, NY and Anambra State, Nigeria. Her debut EP – Melanin and Melancholy was called “transcendent” by POPDUST Magazine. Kate’s soothing vocals serve as a centerpiece, surrounded by a pallete of diverse influences including elements of Pop, R&B and traditional Nigerian music. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Kate went on to be accepted into the prestigious SpringboardNYC program by the American Theatre Wing, founder of the Tony® Awards. A true reflection of her upbringing, Kate draws inspiration from traditional Nigerian music as well as elements of Neo-Soul, Pop and R&B.
