The Rock Revolution has begun!

LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK – Ronin has arrived! There’s a new band who’s bringing back the timeless tradition of rock for the sake of rock. This is the album you’ve all been waiting for, whether you knew it or not.

Ronin made great strides in 2019, playing shows all over Long Island and New York City. It was then that their nemesis appeared: Covid-19. The band battled back the villainous virus, but in the end the dastardly disease ensured the cancellation of their remaining  2020 performances, even going so far as to ruin a regional tour.

With nothing left to lose, Ronin hit the studio to record their first full-length album. The eight-song, 42 minute work is a celebration of rock in its purest form. What awaits listeners on this freshman album are hard pumping rhythms, ripping guitar solos, spine shivering choral harmonies, and monumentally unique lead vocals from Ronin’s driving force, Chris Feldmann. Of the album, Feldmann would like the world to know:

“I just really want people to feel what we feel when we’re playing our music; passion, desire, energy and fun. We’re tired of hearing about how ‘rock is dead’ and has no place in the current musical climate. The idea and image of rock has been distorted; rock lost its identity. Ronin has no frills, or smoke and mirrors, because what you see is what you get, and with this album, we believe people will get to experience the true essence of rock. The Rock Revolution is here, so come with us if you want rock to live!”

Ronin was formed in late 2018 from a group of grade school friends who have known each other the majority of their lives. None of them knew how to play their instruments back then, but over a decade later they had each picked up just what they needed to in order to form a band. Recognizing the draw of fate, Ronin was realized, and the fact they are all self-taught, makes their polished sound all the more impressive, while still retaining a raw edge. The self-titled album was released in full on January 22, 2021. It can be found on Youtube, Spotify, Apple, Amazon Music, and all major music streaming services.

Hawk and the Wild is a singer/songwriter whose real name is Jimmy Wiltfalk. As soon as he picked up an instrument, his interest for writing his own music emerged. The indie-folk and roots style has only been his focus for the last couple of years. His debut album Extrication Songs was released in 2016 with a release tour following in Sweden. During the past years, Hawk and Wild has written and recorded more songs.  He plans to feature previous singles, Shoot to The Sky, Ocean Watch, and The Wave on the album “Life and Death of Old Mrs. Ocean”. The first singles, The Wave and Ocean Watch, has already gained great success on streaming platforms and across internet radio, music blogs and magazines.

Jimmy writes all music and lyrics while recording most of it in his own home studio. He also plays most live gigs alone as a one-man band, but he is sometimes accompanied by fellow musicians. When he is not playing music or scribbling a new song, he is riding board or speaking for human rights or environmental protection; a commitment often noticed in the lyrics of his songs.  His commitment to human rights and environmental protection drew attention from the antiracist social media charity project and single, “The dream is still alive”.  Hawk and Wild released a video for that single on YouTube and the song is also streaming on Spotify/iTunes. The song hit #1 on the Swedish Independent Music Chart and the music video has had great success in Germany, France, and England.

She drew inspiration from artists like Anita Baker, Ella Fitzgerald, Barbara Streisand, Natalie Cole, Toni Braxton, Vanessa Williams and Patti Austin throughout most of her musical career. Since then, Heidi Tann has cultivated her own niche in the R&B and jazz, pop standard genre She released her first EP, “Here Is Where We Meet” in 2019 and her first single, “My Favorite Things,” an enlivened rendition of the classic tune from The Sound of Music
